Meet the Coaching Team.
Dedication. Expertise. Passion.
We continue to work towards developing a strong coaching team that will support and drive the program in a positive direction. The coaches, together with specialist coaches, will ensure the delivery of an elite program for young athletes.
The committee is constantly sourcing talented coaches and working towards maintaining a platform that supports and develops the region's potential elite coaches of the future.
Tracy DUNSTAN
Head Coach & Team Pink Co-Coach
Intermediate Coaching Accreditation

Tracy joined the program at the beginning of 2016 bringing with her a wealth of netball knowledge.
Having been a representative player for both Barwon and Flyers, it followed that she would turn to coaching. Her initial coaching appointments were A & B Grade positions at Modewarre and St Mary's, achieving grand final berths several times at St Mary's.
Tracy has also filled club positions as an administrator (both as Director and Secretary) and makes a valuable contribution to the administrative side of the program and how that works to enhance the overall delivery.
It was in 2010 that Tracy discovered her passion in coaching and mentoring junior athletes. It is this passion that she brings to the program inspiring those around her to be committed and positive in approach.
With Tracy's passion comes a drive to improve not only athletes, but coaches too and she maintains a focus on individual development across both athlete and coaching roles.
Taryn LAVERTY
Team Pink Co-Coach
Intermediate Coaching Accreditation

Taryn joined the coaching group in 2022 and has been instrumental in helping deliver and evolve the program.
As a life-long player and with a love for all things netball, Taryn has been coaching form a young age and now has many years of experience in developing juniors. It was a natural progression for her to step into the Flyers space and, under the mentorship of senior coaches, is thriving.
Taryn is also an experienced umpire and administrator at club level holding may years service in the Bellarine Football Netball League.
The commitment Taryn brings to her coaching, the empathy she exhibits with athletes and her obvious passions, enhances the program and we look forward to guiding her progression and assisting her in realising the natural talent that she possesses.
Jacqui DIGNAN
Team Indigo Co-Coach
Intermediate Coaching Accreditation

Joining the program in 2022, Jacqui also brings a wealth of experience in coaching. In a refreshing turn, Jacqui approached the program looking for a position to further develop her coaching expertise. Rather than hunting coaches, it was exciting to see someone with the motivation and drive to seek out the opportunities that the program offers.
Jacqui has been coaching both senior and junior netball since 2008 at Newcomb Power FNC, St Joseph's FNC, and Otway Districts FNC. She also completed her Intermediate Coaching Accreditation in 2021. In addition, Jacqui is an experienced umpire having been a GFNL panel umpire, mentor and co-ordinator.
With a passion for developing junior athletes and nurturing their self-confidence as they begin to believe in their capabilities, we have no doubt that Jacqui will be integral in driving the high standard of the coaching program in 2026.
Paula BIRCH
Team Indigo Co-Coach
Development Coaching Accreditation

Paula has been coaching with the program since 2021. She is another passionate netballer with a focus on developing young athletes and will enhance the professionalism and delivery of individual coaching for each and every squad member.
Paula began as a junior for the Ocean Grove FNC in 1991 and has just recently retired, having surpassed 400 senior games in 2024 (over 600 games in total for her club). Her career includes playing in the Geelong State League team, Barwon Region and Bellarine representative teams as well as A Grade at local club netball.
The coaching bug took hold at the age of 13 and, over the past 25+ years, Paula has coached all ages from 13/U to A Grade at club level and has had numerous roles as a representative coach. To add to all this, she also has her C Grade umpiring badge.
Paula is an experienced coach who brings a mature and measured intelligence to the coaching group. She can communicate on an individual level with athletes that are both productive and valued. We are looking forward to her continued involvement and the credibility she brings to the program in 2026.
Lucy SAMPSON
Mentee Coach
Development Coaching Accreditation

Lucy - a Flyers Alumna, joined the coaching team in 2025. Before injury, Lucy played representative netball for the Bellarine FNL and Barwon Region and was an exemplary Flyers squad member in her approach and commitment to training.
While recovering, Lucy coached at her local club and discovered a passion for developing young players. It is our good fortune that she is keen to develop further and has immersed herself in the program with the same approach and commitment that she showed as a player. We are excited to follow Lucy's development and to mentor her in her endeavours.
Elly HANNAM
Mentee Coach
Foundation Coaching Accreditation

Elly - a Flyers Alumna and previous recipient of the Jan Oman Award of Merit in 2024, we are just as excited to offer Elly a mentorship in coaching. Elly has been exemplary in her approach and commitment to her roles within the Flyer's playing group and we are excited to continue watching this grow in the Flyer's coaching group.
Having two young coaches ensures the future for a program such as ours. While we continue to support and develop our mature coaches, it is important to seek to mentor the likes of Lucy and Elly, ensuring the future of the program, maintaining integrity, and continually improving delivery.
