Built, Not Born Confidence is often misunderstood. It is not volume. It is not personality. It is not always visible. True confidence is built through preparation, repetition, and support. Where Confidence Comes From Confidence grows through: - consistent training - positive self-talk - constructive feedback - backing yourself in moments of pressure It is developed, not gifted. The Role of Preparation Preparation reduces uncertainty. When athletes understand their role and trust their training, they are more willing to take risks and perform under pressure. Confidence is rarely accidental. It is earned. Confidence and Mistakes Confidence does not mean avoiding mistakes. It means responding well to them. Athletes who can reset, reflect and refocus build a deeper, more resilient form of belief. For Parents and Coaches Confidence grows in environments where: - effort is recognised - progress is acknowledged - feedback is clear - support is consistent A confident athlete is not the loudest in the room. They are the one who trusts themselves when it matters most.
